Luke Mysse, an activator and strategic thinker joined me Monday at 9am pst!

GO LUKE GO!!!!

If you missed Luke Mysse on my show this morning, you can listen to our conversation here.

Luke Mysse is an Activator, Strategic thinker, some say he talks too much. Luke plans to spend his life helping others. He is known as a “business-minded creative” because of his strategic approach to generating results and has been helping businesses succeed for almost 20 years. He is a frequent national business conference speaker, a TEDx presenter, a writer and has been a branding professional for over 17 years with past clients such as Pepsi, H&R Block and Universal Studios. In 2013 Luke co-founded StopSAM.org, a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and money to fight the devastating effects of Severe Acute Malnutrition. Over 5 years ago Luke discovered cycling and has since last over 100lbs riding. Last year Luke's passion for cycling collided head on with his purpose to help starving children. The result is that starting in June 2014 Luke will get on his bike in San Diego and ride to New York to raise awareness for Stop SAM. He will be supported by his wife Dalia and their two boys who will live in an RV for the 6 month journey. The After 17 years in business Luke has now committed this next season of his life to fight severe acute malnutrition and leave a legacy of hope. CycleCause.com

Cycle Cause - A Ride to Save Malnourished Children

This is the story of a family leaving it all behind to cycle across America and save the lives of severely malnourished children.

This is the story of a family leaving it all behind to cycle across America and help save the lives of severely malnourished children.

My name is Luke Mysse and cycling has changed my life. I've lost over 100lbs in the past 5 years riding a bike. Cycling has given me better health and the time spent riding has helped me find my purpose.
I'm walking away from a 17-year-old business to ride my bike over 4,500 miles across America with my wife and two boys following along in an RV.
This trip is to tell the story of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and raise money to provide lifesaving treatments. But we need your help.
There are practical expenses on a trip like this (things like gas, food, campgrounds and other logistics). Your support will help us tell the story of SAM and raise even more money.
Any funds raised above the practical costs of the trip go directly to fight severe malnutrition.

About The Cause

In 2013, I co-founded Stop SAM, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and money for severely malnourished children. I'm leveraging my 17 years of marketing experience, my speaking ability and my passion for cycling to give these children a voice.
Severe Acute Malnutrition kills over 2 million children annually and affects 20 million children under the age of three. That’s more people than the entire population of Florida. Most children suffering with SAM live in Sub-Saharan Africa or South Asia.

It’s a massive problem, but the solution is simple.

A peanut butter based super food called RUTF (Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food) is being made right now in Georgia by Stop SAM partners.
We know the solution works. We know who needs it and how to get it to them. All we need are the funds and awareness to provide more treatments.

How It Works

RUTF, endorsed by all the leading world aid organizations (WHO, USAID, UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders and others), is nutrient-dense and ready to eat. It’s delicious, easy to ship and requires no preparation – no cooking, refrigeration or water. It's a simple mix of ingredients: milk, peanut butter and micro-nutrients.

In most cases a 6 week treatment, 126 packets, is enough to bring a child back from the brink of death. Over 90% of kids that go on a treatment get to a healthy weight and stay that way.
Despite this simple solution, only 15% of the need is currently being met. Our mission is to help bridge this gap and provide our partners like Save The Children and World Vision (and other world aid organizations) the RUTF they need.

More About Our Trip

Our journey will be broken into two stages.

Stage 1, which is expected to take 90 days, starts in June of 2014 from San Diego, CA where I will get on my bike and pedal north. The route will take us along the coast of California towards Oregon before we turn East towards New York.

Stage 2
starts once we reach New York. After a short break to catch my breath we will start the drive back home as a family, stopping along the way to meet people, speak at conferences, host fundraising events, and tell the story of SAM.
With your help we believe we can raise big awareness and meet our goal to save 4500 children from Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
Cycling is my passion, telling the story of SAM is my purpose.
On behalf of Stop SAM and the Mysse family, I thank you in advance for your support.
