About Tosca

If you missed Tosca on today's show, listen here!
Tosca Reno is the New York Times best-selling author of Your Best Body Now and the Eat-Clean Diet® series, which has sold more than two million copies worldwide. She is one of the leading North American health and wellness experts fighting the battle against obesity. Tosca has a B.Sc., B.Ed. and is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP).

At the age of 40, Tosca took control of her life and transformed her overweight and unfulfilled self into a strong, fit woman by eating clean. For the past decade she has been helping an ever-increasing number of followers lose weight and get healthy with the Eat-Clean Diet®.

In her multiple roles as author, certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, fitness model and motivational speaker, Tosca translates healthy eating into an easily adaptable and enjoyable lifestyle that has attracted big-name celebrity followers such as Angelina Jolie, Bobbi Brown and Paula Abdul. She sits on the board for the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA) and the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM).

Tosca is a popular guest on numerous national TV, radio and web programs, including Good Morning America, The Doctors, The Early Show on CBS and Fox and Friends. She also appears regularly as a Lifechanger on the entertainment news program Extra. Her Gemini award-winning reality show Tosca: Flexing at 49, is now featured on Canada’s Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), and she has plans to release a much-anticipated follow up series examining life after the loss of her husband Robert Kennedy.

Tosca is also a regular contributor to Clean Eating and Oxygen magazines, and has been on the cover of the latter an impressive seven (soon to be eight) times. When she isn’t in front of the camera, Tosca is spreading her personal brand of inspiration through fitness and motivational seminars at conventions, businesses, charity events and women’s groups across North America.

On a mission to help as many people as possible transform their lives, Tosca has started what she calls an Eat-Clean Revolution. And with one look at the spectacular transformation photos and grateful messages across her extensive social media network, it is clear that this revolution is creating powerful, positive change.
Tosca’s Media Room

The term “mediagenic” doesn’t begin to describe Tosca Reno. A producer’s dream, she is as comfortable as a host as she is a guest. One producer summed it up: “Tosca simply gets TV, and that makes my job so much easier.”

But Tosca understands a lot more than just TV. She is a fabulous guest on radio, and is a fascinating subject for magazines, newspapers and documentaries. One talent manager gushes that Tosca has: “the polish … depth and ability to listen with understanding and speak with true knowledge and compassion.”

She’s funny, smart, gorgeous and fit. And the best part? Women relate to her. Her fan base, which includes men and women from all age groups, is growing stronger and wider every day, but her largest fan base is made up of women between the ages of 35 and 55.

Tosca Reno is available for interviews, photo shoots, and seminars. For more information about Tosca Reno or to book an appearance with her, please send a media request here.

About Kirk Bauer

If you missed Kirk Bauer on today's show, listen here!
As a disabled Vietnam veteran and Executive Director of Disabled Sports USA for the past 30 years, Kirk Bauer firmly believes that the military philosophy of leadership by example is the most effective way to inspire others to dream big and achieve their goals. True to this, at age 64 he still leads an active sports life participating with wounded warriors, you th and others in skiing, biking, hiking, golf and other sports.

As DSUSA’s executive director since 1982, Kirk has taken a small, all volunteer organization, and made it the nation’s largest sports and recreation organization for physically disabled individuals. For his achievements, Kirk has been awarded the Gene Autrey Courage Award and selected as the 1986 “Healthy American Fitness Leader”, an honor presented yearly by the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. In 2008, he was awarded the “George M. Steinbrenner III Sports Leadership Award” by the U.S. Olympic Committee in recognition of his outstanding contribution to sports. In 2013, Kirk was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by the President’s Council on Fitness (Link).

In 2010, he led a team of all amputee veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars on a successful summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,341’) the highest mountain in Africa. Between them, the three wounded warriors from three wars and two generations had only “one good leg”.

In 2012, Bauer lead a team of 5 wounded warriors, with “four good legs” on a climb of Alaska’s Mt. McKinley, which at 20,320’ is the highest mountain in North America and has some of the most severe weather in the world. The team reached 15, 500’ before having to suspend the climb due to severe wind and snowstorms.

He participates in the Bataan Memorial Death March, a one day 26 mile hike in the deserts of southern New Mexico; and in the “Three Notch Century” ride, a 100 mile, one day bicycle ride over three mountain passes in the White Mountains of Northern New Hampshire. He bikes with only one leg.

In 2006, Bauer received a Presidential appointment to serve on the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports; and in the 2006 Torino Winter Paralympics and again in the 2008 Beijing Summer Paralympics, was appointed by President Bush to represent the United States.

While serving in Vietnam as a non-commissioned officer in the 9th Infantry Division, Bauer was awarded 2 Bronze Stars for heroism and the Purple Heart for injuries incurred in combat. Bauer holds a Doctorate of Law Degree from Boston University School of Law.
