ππCelebrate National Bike Month π²π΄ May is National Bike Month, presenting the perfect opportunity to celebrate cycling and embrace the joy of riding on the UCI campus! Whether you ride a bicycle, e-bike, or scooter, UCI Transportation is excited to support our vibrant community with events like our WhimCycle bike festival and resources that promote a fun and safe riding experience. This month, we invite you to embrace the many physical, mental, and environmental benefits of active transportation while committing to habits that help keep our campus safe for everyone. Creating a welcoming and safe campus begins with simple yet impactful actions. Please continue to follow dismount zone regulations by walking your device on Ring Mall between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Riders of e-scooters, skateboards, skates, and similar devices should also dismount when entering the campus core, following campus pathway regulations. Always observe traffic laws, watch your speed in crowded areas, and be mindful of pedestrians. By prioritizing safety and consideration, we can cultivate a campus community built on awareness, cooperation, and mutual respect. Kick off National Bike Month by participating in CicloIrvine on Saturday, May 3. This community-focused open streets event provides a car-free route for biking, walking, and rolling. This is a great opportunity for the UCI campus community to get outside, ride together, and celebrate active transportation. Whether pedaling solo or with friends, CicloIrvine offers a safe, festive environment for enjoying the outdoors and supports bike-friendly living.
