Christie Cate (she/her) is the creator and showrunner for Mermaid Mafia, an upcoming adult indie animated pilot produced by her company Lumen Airy LLC. The vision for the company came about upon the death of her mother, a figure who positively influenced her in every aspect of her life.
A Los Angeles native, Christie grew up surrounded by diverse artist communities, which inspired her to become a creator herself. In writing, she loves writing female leads, and the tone of her stories can be influenced by her demi-sexuality. She has taken multiple writing courses, most notably from the UCLA extension program, and Boyds Mills.
Christie is also a prolific actress, many of her most popular roles are voice over characters. She loves using her voice as an instrument to create unique sounding characters that match the project's vision. Her career as an actress has led her to gather a following of over 100k across social media platforms.
When she is not directing Mermaid Mafia, writing, or acting, Christie can be found out in nature, listening to BTS, or petting her three rescue cats.
